Updated Play Store with a new ‘My Apps’ section appears to be rolling out

Updated Play Store with a new ‘My Apps’ section appears to be rolling out

It appears that Google is now slowly rolling out a design update that looks similar to what we saw in a leaked "dogfood" version of the Play Store last month.

The outgoing version currently has three tabs: installed, all, and beta.

The new version has now separated apps that have updates available into their own tab, has kept the installed tab, all has now been changed to library, and there is still the tab that lists all of the apps that you are testing beta versions of.

Best of all, there is now the option to sort apps within the installed and library tabs by alphabetical order, last updated, last used, and by size.

The popular super Mario Nintendo game which was earlier announced to be coming to Android soon has finally arrived. Android O In view: See Some Of Its Features

Android O In view: See Some Of Its Features

Android O introduces a number of new features and APIs to use in your apps. Here's are just a few of those features;

Background limits:
Building on the work we began in Nougat, Android O puts a big priority on improving a user's battery life and the device's interactive performance. To make this possible, we've put additional automatic limits on what apps can do in the background, in three main areas: implicit broadcasts, background services, and location updates. These changes will make it easier to create apps that have minimal impact on a user's device and battery. Background limits represent a significant change in Android, so we want every developer to get familiar with them. Check out the documentation on background execution limits and background location limits for details.

Notification channels:
Android O also introduces notification channels, which are new app-defined categories for notification content. Channels let developers give users fine-grained control over different kinds of notifications — users can block or change the behavior of each channel individually, rather than managing all of the app's notifications together.
Notification channels let users control your app's notification categories. Android O also adds new visuals and grouping to notifications that make it easier for users to see what's going on when they have an incoming message or are glancing at the notification shade.

PIP for handsets and new windowing features:
Picture in Picture (PIP) display is now available on phones and tablets, so users can continue watching a video while they're answering a chat or hailing a car. Apps can put themselves in PiP mode from the resumed or a pausing state where the system supports it - and you can specify the aspect ratio and a set of custom interactions (such as play/pause). Other new windowing features include a new app overlay window for apps to use instead of system alert window, and multi-display support for launching an activity on a remote display.

Font resources in XML:
Previously you have to root your Android phone to be able to use fonts, but now Fonts are now a fully supported resource type in Android O. Apps can now use fonts in XML layouts as well as define font families in XML — declaring the font style and weight along with the font files.

Adaptive icons:
To help you integrate better with the device UI, you can now create adaptive icons that the system displays in different shapes, based on a mask selected by the device. The system also animates interactions with the icons, and uses them in the launcher, shortcuts, Settings, sharing dialogs, and in the overview screen.
Adaptive icons display in a variety of shapes across different device models.

For the ultimate in audio fidelity, Android O now also supports high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs such as LDAC codec. We're also adding new Wi-Fi features as well, like Wi-Fi Aware , previously known as Neighbor Awareness Networking (NAN). On devices with the appropriate hardware, apps and nearby devices can discover and communicate over Wi-Fi without an Internet access point. We're working with our hardware partners to bring Wi-Fi Aware technology to devices as soon as possible.

Keyboard navigation: With the advent of Google Play apps on Chrome OS and other large form factors, we're seeing a resurgence of keyboard navigation use within these apps. In Android O we focused on building a more reliable, predictable model for "arrow" and "tab" navigation that aids both developers and end users.

The New Instagram Update Supports Downloading Live Videos

The New Instagram Update Supports Downloading Live Videos

Instagram today has announced a new update for its iOS and Android apps. The update comes not long after the social network added support for geostickers to its Stories feature. Today’s update, however, relates to live video and adds support for downloading live videos once the broadcast has ended.

Instagram revealed the update in a post on its official blog , explaining once a live stream has ended, the broadcaster now has the ability to download the footage and save it to their smartphone.

After the live stream ends, the broadcaster will see a new “Save” button in the upper-right corner of the app. Tapping this will save the footage to your camera roll, thus preserving it forever.

One important thing to note here is that after the video has been downloaded, it still disappears completely from the Instagram app itself. Neither the broadcaster nor the viewers will be able to watch it in the Instagram app after the stream has ended.

Instagram also says that only the raw video footage will be saved, not the likes or comments the stream received.

See how Instagram explains the new feature on its official blog:

Starting today, you’ll have the option to save your live video to your phone at the end of a broadcast. While live videos will continue to disappear from the app when you’re done, this update gives you the flexibility to hold onto your video and re-watch it later, especially if something exciting happens during your broadcast that you want to remember or share.

After your live broadcast ends, tap Save in the upper right corner. You’ll only be able to save your video — not the comments, likes, number of viewers or any live interactions. After saving, tap Done and your live video will be saved to your camera roll but will no longer be available in the app.

Instagram first added support for live streaming video back in December. The ability to download live broadcasts comes with the latest version of the Instagram app sfor iOS and Android, which are available on each respective platform today.
Super Mario For Android Coming Soon

Super Mario For Android Coming Soon

Super Mario Run is officially making its way to Android, as Nintendo promised what seems like so long ago . The company has now revealed an exact date for Mario’s Android debut: March 23. That’s this Thursday, in case you’re bad at math or don’t have a calendar handy, and it means iOS users had more than three months of exclusive access to the game.

Because that’s a virtual eternity in the fast-paced world of mobile gaming, here’s a reminder of what Super Mario Run actually is: Nintendo’s first mobile game leveraging its classic IP. It’s a one-tap platform, in which Mario runs of his own accord and you tap the screen to get him to jump, using your keen perception to figure out when are the best times to actually do that for max impact and score.

The game offers a taste of gameplay for free, with the full version available via a one-time payment for unlocking all levels. It’s still a game that focuses more on challenging others and completing daily challenges, however, as well as accumulating and spending virtual in-game currency to build out your virtual Mushroom Kingdom.

Super Mario Run accumulated huge download numbers from its iOS debut, and good conversions in terms of paid purchases when measured on the scale of mobile games, but it’ll be interesting to see how it fares on Android, where shoppers are known to be less willing to part ways with their hard-earned cash.

Bastian Schweinsteiger signs with Chicago Fire from Manchester United

The German midfielder has departed Manchester United to sign with the Chicago Fire, the MLS club confirmed Monday. Schweinsteiger is expected to link up with Veljko Paunovic's side next week after signing a designated player contract that guarantees him $4.5 million in 2017,

"Throughout my career, I've always sought opportunities where I hoped to make a positive impact and to help make something great," Schweinsteiger said. "My move to Chicago Fire is no different. Through my conversations with [general manager Nelson Rodriguez] and Pauno, I'm convinced by the club’s vision and philosophy and I want to help them with this project."

The 32-year-old midfielder made just four appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this term but still had an emotional message

Manchester United have confirmed Bastian Schweinsteiger will join Chicago Fire, with the midfielder expressing his sadness over leaving but gratitude to the Premier League side.

The MLS side announced the move early on Monday. Schweinsteiger will meet with his new side next week after signing a contract which will reportedly see him earn $4.5 million in 2017.

The 32-year-old emerged at Old Trafford in 2015 from Bayern Munich, where he won eight Bundesliga titles and the Champions League and Club World Cup, while he played in three World Cup finals with Germany, winning one.

Though he started off as a first-team regular under Louis van Gaal, injuries prevented him from keeping his place in the starting XI at United. Shortly after Jose Mourinho took over this season, he was banished to train with the reservesm but remained respected by the fans and earned his place in the squad for their Europa League campaign, coming on against Saint-Etienne in their second round win.

However, Schweinsteiger has opted to seek another opportunity and agreed to a move to Illinois. While he admits he was persuaded to join by the club's "vision and philosophy", he revealed it is not an easy step.

"I am sad to leave so many friends at Manchester United," he told United's official website. "But I am grateful to the club for allowing me the chance to take up the challenge at Chicago Fire.

"I have enjoyed working with the manager, the players and staff here and wish them all the best in the future. But I have to reserve special thanks to the United fans – whose support has been a very special part of my time in Manchester.

"I was delighted to be part of the squad that won the FA Cup for them last season and will always remember their energy and their passion. Now is the right time for me to start a new chapter in Chicago and I am looking forward to it."

Schweinsteiger made just four appearances in all competitions this season, making 31 the previous season.

Manchester City vs Liverpool Match Highlight

Manchester City vs Liverpool Match Highlight

Sergio Aguero's equaliser claimed a vital point for Manchester City, who remain above Liverpool in third in the Premier League after the sides drew 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

James Milner opened the scoring from the spot shortly after half-time, picking out Willy Caballero's bottom-right corner to score his seventh penalty of the season on his Etihad return.

Aguero equalised for City with a close-range finish from Kevin De Bruyne's right-wing cross and the Belgian hit the post as Pep Guardiola's side cranked up the pressure in search of a winner.

But it was Adam Lallana who should have scored the decisive goal, the England international somehow mishitting his shot from eight yards after sublime Liverpool build-up play as both teams lost ground on Tottenham in the race for the second – with Manchester United now just four points behind Jurgen Klopp's fourth-placed side.

No Rooney and Martial Ahead Of Manchester United Clash With FC Rostov

No Rooney and Martial Ahead Of Manchester United Clash With FC Rostov

Manchester United will still be without Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney for Thursday's Europa League match against Rostov due to injury, Jose Mourinho has confirmed.

The duo missed United's 1-0 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Chelsea on Monday and will not be fit in time to return for Thursday's encounter at Old Trafford.

"Martial was injured for the game against Chelsea and could not play," Mourinho said at a news conference.

"If you are still injured for Monday's game, you are still injured on Tuesday morning's training as well, so he is not an option for Thursday.

"Rooney is still injured as well, some kick in his knee area, so he cannot even come out to the pitch. He stays inside the medical department.

"We will have the same players available as for the game against Chelsea, plus Ibrahimovic."

He promised that the university would “do everything possible to provide needed facilities so as to make learning easy and interesting”.

William Gallas has reportedly explained that current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is a better manager than Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

During Gallas playing days, he had the opportunities of playing under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

The 39-year-old Gallas who ended his football career in Australia with A-League club Perth Glory said that Mourinho's constant attention to detail in training separates him from Arsene wenger.

"The difference is that both managers want to win trophies, but with Jose he will show you everyday at training. If you are not 100 per cent he will stop training and say to you 'what's wrong with you, why are you not training?

"If you don't want to train then just go outside and run, because what I want, what I expect from you is to give me everything in training and then you are ready for the game.

"But with Arsene it is a little bit different. You have that responsibility to manage yourself, he won't be behind you all the time. That makes a difference, so for me it was very good to be with one manager who was always behind you,'' Gallas said

Gallas played consistently under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea between 2004 and 2006, and was part of the Blues side that won consecutive Premier League titles before moving to Arsenal where he played under Arsene Wenger for straight four seasons.
