See An App You Can Use To Monitor Your Kids Android Smartphone

With the Family Link app from Google, you can stay in the loop as your kid explores on their Android device. Family Link lets you create a Google Account for your kid that’s like your account, while also helping you set certain digital ground rules that work for your family like;

Managing the apps your kid can use,
Approve or block the apps your kid wants to download from the Google Play Store.

Keeping an eye on screen time, and
See how much time your kid spends on their favorite apps with weekly or monthly activity reports, and set daily screen time limits for their device.

Setting a bedtime on yourkid’s device.
Remotely lock your kid’s device when it’s time to play, study, or sleep.

How To Setup
Family Link is available by invitation only to parents of kids under 13 years old.

To get started, you’ll need:

>. To create a Google Account for your kid through Family Link.
>. A compatible Android device for your kid
>. Your own device (Android or iPhone).
>. Your own Google Account.
>.To be in the U.S. Because the service is only available in U.S.

Note that

> Kids can run Family Link on Android devices running Nougat (7.0) and higher, along with certain Marshmallow (6.1) devices listed in here.

> Some app activity, such as for music players and messaging apps that run in the background, will not be fully tracked with weekly or monthly activity reports.

> In the US, users 13+ can create their own Google Account. For users under the age of 13, parental consent is required to create a Google Account.

This is a good innovation in order to protect our children from some of the social media vices, hopefully very soon this feature will cut across to other parts of the world especially Africa.
